San Cap Pink Project, Inc., known for almost 15 years on Sanibel Island as Pink Out, announces their first ever event designed to celebrate caregivers and supporters of individuals struggling with cancer.
“The Pink Cares Celebration Tea on Tuesday, April 23 at noon will focus on caregivers, who are often the unsung heroes when cancer threatens a family member or friend,” said Mary Bondurant, organization founder.
“Although we are known for our campaigns to provide mammograms for everyone in need, our picnic at the Sanibel Fire Station, and other events in October every year, San Cap Pink Project is active year-round supporting our community members. We’re delighted to add an event at Cielo Restaurant this spring,” she continued.
“Lisa Spooner, NBC2 News Today Anchor, will serve as emcee for our Pink Cares Celebration Tea,” added Ann Neubauer, organization president. “Lisa is a wonderful supporter and a very popular emcee for Pink Tea events. She never hesitates to join us in the fight.”

“Having a maternal grandmother who was a breast cancer survivor as well as several friends who have battled the unfair disease, I always try to make sure I do my part to support causes which support the brave men and women who have battled and continue to fight breast cancer,” said Spooner. “Working with San Cap Pink Project is a highlight of my year.”
LeAne Suarez Group of John R. Wood Properties Christie’s International Real Estate is the title sponsor of the Pink Cares Celebration Tea. Avid community supporters, Suarez and her whole family are local Southwest Florida residents who put their heart and soul into their community and their business.
“It’s my honor to be affiliated with such an incredible group of people,” said Suarez. “Not only do they spend their time helping individuals and their families in this community who are facing a battle, they do it with such a positive attitude that it’s impossible not to have the greatest of hopes.”
Tickets for the Pink Cares Celebration Tea are on sale at https://www.PinkOutTea.com for $50 each or mail a check to the San Cap Pink Project, P.O. Box 125 Sanibel, Florida 33957 for tickets, to contribute, or to volunteer. The event will again be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 23 at Cielo Restaurant, 1244 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel.
This fall, the annual Pink Out Picnic at the Firehouse will be Thursday, Oct. 24. San Cap Pink Project’s additional signature events, including the Dink for Pink pickleball tournament at the Sundial Beach Resort & Spa courts and the spectacular 2024 Pink Tea at Cielo, are also on tap for October with the dates and times to be announced.
All San Cap Pink Project events are designed to honor, remember, and support. Net proceeds from ticket sales, contributions to the raffles and auctions, donations, and merchandise benefit uninsured and underinsured members of local communities needing help with cancer related needs.
