David and Tammy McQuade are speaking at the second of three Sanibel Captiva Audubon lectures on March 10.

The Sanibel Captiva Audubon Society is excited to announce the second lecture of its three-lecture series this season on March 10 at 5:30p.m. at the Sanibel Community House. David and Tammy McQuade are avid ‘Big Year’ listers, having seen more than 700 birds in the American Birding Association areas in 7 consecutive years, along with holding the Big Year American Ornithologist Union eBird record.

The McQuades often blend their birding, traveling, and photography pursuits. Dave & Tammy will recount their 3rd attempt to break the AOU & North American Big Year records. They will share what they learned about doing a Big Year on a larger scale while discussing some of the incredible places they visited, the stunning birds they saw, and the challenges they encountered along the way. In addition, the McQuades manage the Southwest Florida Bird Alert group on Facebook and contribute significant data to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s Macaulay Library.

San-Cap Audubon Society board members are excited to host the McQuades and dive into their
incredible ‘big year’. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased on San-Cap Audubon’s website. If tickets are not purchased in advance, they will cost $10 at the door.
