SanCap Chamber Ribbon-Cutting Hails Opening of Courtside Steakhouse

Top-level steaks and a continued long history of hospitality resonate in the reopening of Courtside Steakhouse at Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa, 17260 Harbour Point Drive in Fort Myers. SanCap Chamber recognized its member’s accomplishment with a ribbon-cutting on March 9.

“We are so proud, as a valued partner with Sanibel Harbour, to see this final step in the hurricane recovery of a culinary landmark,” said John Lai, president and chief executive officer of the SanCap Chamber. “It has been a favorite of locals and resort guests since the advent of the resort.”

Courtside Steakhouse began as a sports bar back in the resort’s early days as the home to pro tennis legend Jimmy Connors’ tournament tennis complex – thus the name “courtside.” Damaged by Hurricane Ian in 2022, it reopened in January under the leadership of new executive chef Jennifer Stinson. She has reimagined the menu and brings a wealth of experience to the operation, said food and beverage director Chris Owens.

Opened for dinner only, the resort’s stand-alone signature restaurant, adjacent to its spa, serves black angus beef from Nebraska. Its 22-ounce bone-in ribeye is famous for serious steak-lovers, while seafood fans tout its miso-glazed sea bass.

“We enjoy a great local following, and as word gets out of our reopening we are seeing more and more locals,” said Owens.
