Sanibel Captiva Community Bank is proud to be a major sponsor for Community Housing and Resources’ Give Your Heart to CHR art fundraising project and gala.

Sanibel Captiva Community Bank is proud to support the Community Housing and Resources’ recent Give Your Heart to CHR art fundraising project and gala at The Community House on Sanibel Island.

In fall 2023, the organization kicked off its awareness campaign by setting up heart sculptures created by local artists across Sanibel and Fort Myers. During the gala, the art pieces were auctioned off to raise funds for affordable workforce housing and resources on Sanibel.

Community Housing and Resources Inc. formed in 1979 as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization to address the growing need for affordable housing in the Sanibel and Captiva area. CHR also serves as the City of Sanibel’s housing foundation under the Affordable Housing Program established in 1983. Today, CHR owns 76 affordable housing units at various locations, including 67 rental properties – one of which is a 12-unit complex for senior residents — and nine Limited Equity Ownership homes through the Coast and Islands Community Land Trust.
