provided to The Santiva Chronicle

The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company will continue its Wisdom of Women (WOW) series with two seminars in March that cover investment, financial and estate planning. The Sanibel event takes place on Wednesday, March 12 at the Sanibel Community House. The Fort Myers program is on Thursday, March 13 at the Trust Company’s Bell Tower Office in Fort Myers.

Each presentation will touch on the basics of investing, financial planning to include retirement, long term care, caregiving, creditor protection, titling of trusts, inheritance, estate tax and more.

Case studies will be shared on the following scenarios that commonly impact women of any age:

• Suddenly single – whether through divorce, incapacity or death of a spouse
• Cash windfall – whether from the sale of a business or other significant asset, or an inheritance
• Midlife planning – how to make sure you have enough money to live on, what are your goals, how best to establish a legacy for family

The seminars will be led by female members of the Trust Company team including Bell Tower Office president Megan Marquardt, CFP®, CTFA.

“Questions we hear most often are ‘Do I have enough money to support my lifestyle in retirement and what happens financially if I find myself alone?’,” said Marquardt. “We hope our attendees leave with questions answered and resources for them to navigate their situation.”

The Sanibel event begins at 9:30 a.m. with continental breakfast and the program at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12 at the Sanibel Community House, 2173 Periwinkle Way on Sanibel. The Fort Myers program is at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 13 at the Trust Company’s Bell Tower Office, 13525 Bell Tower Drive in Fort Myers. Wine, beverages and light appetizers will be served.
