Sanibel Captiva Trust Co. To Host Local Author For Wisdom of Women Series

The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company’s 2024-25 Wisdom of Women (WOW) Series kicks off the season with acclaimed journalist and author Annabelle Tometich on Friday, Nov. 15. The former food writer, editor and restaurant critic for The News-Press will visit MacIntosh Books, located at 1620 Periwinkle Way on Sanibel Island, from 10 a.m. to noon for the WOW program.

Her first book, “The Mango Tree: A Memoir of Fruit, Florida and Felony” published in April to great praise by the New York Times, which called it “sweet, sharp.”

Her writing has appeared in the Washington Post, USA Today, Catapult and many more outlets. She has won more than a dozen awards for her writing over the course of her 18-year career.

The program will begin at 10:45 a.m. Light refreshments will be served.
