The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company’s highly anticipated Speaker Series takes place this March with programs featuring renowned speakers and covering topics of interest to Southwest Floridians.
The event series kicks off with “Gold Medal Memories and a Look to Paris 2024,” presented by Rowdy Gaines, three-time Olympic gold medalist swimmer and member of the U.S. Olympic and International Swimming Halls of Fame. Gaines will tell tales from his competitive swimming days, and his view from the press box for the past 30 years as NBC’s swimming analyst. The event begins at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6 at The Trust Company’s new Sanibel office, 2450 Periwinkle Way. A continental breakfast will begin at 9:30 a.m.
The series continues a week later with “Lessons of Abe Lincoln: How Effective Leadership Can Change the World,” which features Louis P. Masur, Board of Governors, Distinguished Professor of American Studies and History at Rutgers University. Masur will discuss what we can learn from Lincoln to manage our current conflicts and how we can become more effective leaders in our workplace and community. The event begins at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 13 at the Tribby Arts Center at Shell Point, 17281 On Par Blvd. in Fort Myers. A continental breakfast will begin at 9:30 a.m.
