The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company is sponsoring this year’s Give Your Heart to CHR gala, which will raise funds for the non-profit, Community and Housing Resources. CHR provides affordable workforce housing on Sanibel.

The gala will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3 at The Community House, 2173 Periwinkle Way on Sanibel. Attendees will be treated to drinks, appetizers, music and a heart auction featuring all of CHR’s beautiful heart sculptures exhibited together in one place. Each sculpture is three feet by four feet and designed, painted and decorated by area artists.

The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company, a heart event sponsor, is offering a heart painted by local artist Taryn Manning, a seven-year resident who lived in CHR while she had a job on the island.

“Affordable housing is hard to come by as a young professional and it helped me jumpstart my life here,” said Manning. “This is my third year painting for CHR and I love being able to use my creativity and art to give back to the community to an organization that is much needed in our area.”

Manning’s heart reflects her love of the serenity and peace that Sanibel provides.

“CHR is so critical to the economical and social sustainability of our island community,” said Jeff Muddell, Sanibel Office President of The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company. “The Trust Company is honored to support this important fundraiser.”
