Sanibel Library Board Seeking to Fill Two Vacant Seats

The Sanibel Public Library District Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for two open seats due to the retirement of two board members. The board plans to appoint the new members in November for two-year terms.

The Sanibel Library Board is an independent governing body with responsibility for library fiscal oversight and budget and policy approval, as detailed in House Bill 1381 and Florida statute. It’s comprised of seven members who are elected on a non-partisan basis for a four-year term.

The board meets monthly, on the third Thursday. Additional meetings or workshops may be scheduled as needed. The board operates under the Sunshine Law, which means all discussion and deliberation must take place at a publicly advertised meeting.

Applications, which may be downloaded here, along with a resume, biography narrative or statement of interest, are due by Thursday, Nov. 12 and should be addressed to:

Sanibel Public Library District Board of Commissioners
ATTN: Margaret Mohundro
770 Dunlop Road

Questions should be directed to Sanibel Library Executive Director Margaret Mohundro at 239-472-2483.
