The League of Women Voters of Sanibel has announced its next citizen education luncheon program. This nonpartisan program entitled “Understanding Project 2025’s Mandate for Leadership” will be held in the third-floor ballroom of the Sundial Beach Resort, 1451 Middle Gulf Drive.

This program will be presented by Stephen Bear, Gary Chesley, and Jon Gustafson. These men have immersed themselves in reading and understanding the 992 pages of the Project 2025 manual in order to interpret it for others. Many of the architects of Project 2025 have roles in the incoming Trump administration, making it deeply relevant to our nation.

The presenters will be touching on Project 2025’s recommendations for a wide range of areas, such as the economy, education, environment, national security, nuclear weapons, and reproductive rights. The League intends for this program to be a highly informative and lively discussion, leaving those who attend more informed about the Project 2025 master plan, which, if implemented, could change the way the U.S. Government works.

Mr. Bear is Director Emerita of McKinsey & Company. Mr. Chesley is an educator who served as the Superintendent of the Bethel Public Schools in Connecticut. Mr. Gustafson, a community development professional, is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves and a decorated Vietnam Combat veteran.

The cost of the program is $30 per person, which includes lunch. Payment by cash or check can be made at the door. Seats are limited to the first 100 to register. Registration is requested by no later than January 2. To register, click here or email lwvsanibel@gmail.com.

Please note that as of the time of this release, the Sundial ballroom may be accessed only by a flight of stairs as the elevator is not yet operational. If you are interested in the program but unable to do stairs at this time, please write to the Sanibel League at lwvsanibel@gmail.com to let them know; the League will then promptly contact you if the Sundial elevator does become operational prior to the January 8 program.
