Sanibel Music Festival Hosting Inaugural Gala Benefit Weekend

Cellist David Finckel and Pianist Wu Han will perform at the Sanibel Music Festival.

Sanibel Music Festival will kick off its 38th season with an inaugural Gala Benefit Weekend. The Saturday, March 1 concert features the festival’s beloved friends and world-renowned artists David Finckel and WuHan.

David Finckel, cello, and WuHan, piano, are the recipients of Musical America’s Musicians of the Year Award. They enjoy a multi-faceted musical life that encompasses performing, recording, and artistic direction.

Finckel was formerly the cellist with the Emerson String Quartet and is now devoting his career to concertizing and serving as artistic director for several groups.

WuHan is a renowned pianist who has played worldwide and appeared frequently at the Sanibel Music Festival. She is the founder and co-artistic director of Silicon Valley’s innovative music festival Music @ Menlo and serves as Artistic Advisor for Wolf Trap’s Chamber Music program.

Together they are the artistic directors of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. They are generously providing this benefit for the Sanibel Music Festival.
