Sanibel Music Festival will kick off its 38th season with an inaugural Gala Benefit Weekend. The Saturday, March 1 concert features the festival’s beloved friends and world-renowned artists David Finckel and WuHan.
David Finckel, cello, and WuHan, piano, are the recipients of Musical America’s Musicians of the Year Award. They enjoy a multi-faceted musical life that encompasses performing, recording, and artistic direction.
Finckel was formerly the cellist with the Emerson String Quartet and is now devoting his career to concertizing and serving as artistic director for several groups.
WuHan is a renowned pianist who has played worldwide and appeared frequently at the Sanibel Music Festival. She is the founder and co-artistic director of Silicon Valley’s innovative music festival Music @ Menlo and serves as Artistic Advisor for Wolf Trap’s Chamber Music program.
Together they are the artistic directors of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. They are generously providing this benefit for the Sanibel Music Festival.
Talk and mingle with David Finckel and WuHan at a private home cocktail party on February 28 with the purchase of a $250 benefits package, including front-row seating at the concert on Saturday, March 1, and a reception following the concert.

Sanibel Music Festival has a long tradition of presenting high-quality chamber music in an intimate setting on the island. All concerts are at 7:30 p.m. at the Sanibel Congregational UCC, 2050 Periwinkle Way.
