Sanibel Music Festival Returns To Island For 38th Season

Cellist David Finckel and Pianist Wu Han will perform at the Sanibel Music Festival.

The Sanibel Music Festival will return to its longtime venue, Sanibel Congregational Church, for its 38th season which begins with an island-wide 50th Anniversary Luminary Concert at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6. Florida Gulf Coast University musicians will delight the audience with their music.

For piano aficionados, we are elated to have the enthusiastic support of renowned pianist, Wu Han, for a special benefit gala performance with her husband, cellist David Finckel, on March 1, 2025. Be sure to plan ahead to purchase your tickets early and online at http://www.sanibelmusicfestival.org for this “not to be missed” weekend full of events. Stay tuned for details on our website in the coming months.

Continuing with the start of our official season on March 4th, we shall showcase Jon Nakamatsu, who is in his third decade of world tours and is Cliburn Gold Medalist. On March 11th, we shall proudly present the winner of the U.S. National Chopin Piano Competition. The Horszowski Trio, which completed a tour of Germany (19 concerts in 23 days) in 2022 with great success, will wow us with their prowess. Opera Theater of Connecticut will regale us with familiar tunes from Kander and Ebb- Chicago, Cabaret, Sinatra and Minelli. To wrap up the season will be the powerful and inspiring four gentlemen comprising Isidore String Quartet.

Come revel in the intimacy of our venue and to be up close with world class artists. Plan to augment your experience with a donation of $1,000 or more to achieve recognition in the Encore Society. Perks for a $1,000 donation include not only two reserved, named seats at concerts but also an invitation to the After Glo reception following concerts to mingle with our esteemed artists and to learn a bit more about their lives and musical styles!

We are an all-volunteer organization and strive to keep tickets prices reasonable, but to do so we depend on the generosity of our patrons as only 40 percent of expenses are covered by ticket sales. Donations of any amount may be made on our website or mailed to SMF, P.O. Box 1623, Sanibel, FL 33957.

Sanibel Music Festival is a 501 c3 organization, which allows your contribution to be considered as tax deductible. (Please consult with your accountant for best advice.)
Online ticket purchases will generate a scan code that you may show on your phone, which will not only expedite your entry into the venue but will also continue the ecology-friendly “Sanibel spirit.”

We believe the arts are a compelling force in the positive recovery of our region after Hurricane Ian. We are so grateful for your continued involvement and support
