Sanibel Music Festival announces the addition of Walter Lazear to its Board of Directors. Walter’s participation in the Sanibel Music Festival began with proofreading program writeups, then grew to include testing the SMF website and helping with publicity releases.
Lazear is a longtime musician who enjoys tennis, computers, and mystery novels. Over the years, he has participated in choirs, choruses, glee clubs, concert bands, orchestras, jazz bands, an eight-harp ensemble, and, most recently, a folk rock band. His instruments include folk harp, hammered dulcimer, recorder, and bass guitar. Originally from Winnetka, Ill., and now from Reston, Va., Lazear winters in Fort Myers, and plays tennis in two leagues for teams from Sanibel’s Dunes Country Club.
His work includes 20 years in the Air Force and 20 years at the federal think tank MITRE Corporation. In his retirement, he spent 14 years teaching digital photography to senior citizens in Reston, Va., and seven years publishing his wife Audrey J Adair’s 35 music and activity books (see FunDayPress.com). All of these pursuits involved computer programming, data networks, and publishing software.
Lazear looks forward to working with fellow SMF Board members to produce a successful 38th year in 2025. Visit http://www.SanibelMusicFestival.org.
