Sanibel Police Blotter: Two Criminal Citations Issued

The Sanibel Police handled the following area incidents from Aug. 6 to Aug. 12:

August 10: Police stopped a vehicle for failing to maintain its lane. A records check showed the license plate was assigned to a family member’s unregistered vehicle. The driver was issued a citation for the lane violation and a criminal citation for an attached tag not assigned. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
August 11: Police stopped a vehicle for passing in a no-passing zone. The driver provided an out-of-state license and stated he had only been in Florida for several weeks. However, the officer had pulled over the same driver several months ago for unlawful speed and was given the same explanation at the time. The driver was issued a criminal citation for failing to obtain a Florida driver’s license.
