Sanibel Police Blotter: Week of Oct. 15-21

The Sanibel Police handled the following area incidents from Oct. 15 to Oct. 21, 2024:

Officers responded on Thursday, Oct. 17, to a report of an unknown male threatening a resident. The male, identified as Elijah Burns of Sanibel, was located by police and arrested. Burns was charged with disorderly intoxication and assault. He was transported to the Lee County Jail and released on Oct. 18.

Andres Hipolito Vazquez of Fort Myers was arrested on Friday, Oct. 18, and charged with driving without a valid license, a third offense. Officers transported him to the Lee County Jail, and he was released on Oct. 18.

*Saturday, Oct. 19: A driver was issued a criminal citation for knowingly operating a vehicle with a suspended license. The driver was also cited for having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.

*Saturday, Oct. 19: A driver was issued a criminal citation for operating a vehicle with a valid out-of-state license while their Florida license was suspended.
