Sanibel Police Reports: Week of Oct. 22-28

The Sanibel Police handled the following area incidents from Oct. 22 to Oct. 28, 2024:

Oct. 24: Marcos Tojin Mejia of Fort Myers was arrested by police for knowingly driving with an invalid license.

Oct. 24: Police responded to a request for a well-being check at a residence. After confirming everyone was OK, a records check revealed that one of the occupants, Ryan Anderson, had an active warrant for a probation violation out of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Officers arrested Anderson and transported him to the Lee County Jail.

Oct. 26: Police issued a criminal citation to a driver for driving with a suspended license over six months. Officers seized the driver’s license and vehicle license plate. (A criminal citation is also known as a Notice To Appear and is issued instead of a physical arrest.)

Oct. 28: Jeffrey Fairbanks of North Fort Myers was arrested by police for operating a vehicle without a license. Officers found through a records check that Fairbanks was marked as a habitual offender on an invalid out-of-state license, and he had never been issued a Florida license. He had been cited twice before for the same offense.
