The City of Sanibel reminds residents and visitors that the Sanibel Recreation Center will close for its annual maintenance period beginning Friday, August 1, and reopen Monday, August 10.
Additionally, the pools will be closed beginning Thursday, July 30, ahead of the Recreation Center’s closure on Friday, August 1.
This planned closure allows City staff to complete essential maintenance, repairs, deep cleaning, and facility improvements that help ensure the Recreation Center remains a safe, clean, and welcoming place for the community throughout the year.
While recreation amenities and programming will be unavailable during the closure, the front desk will remain open Monday, August 3, through Friday, August 7, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for essential City services, including beach parking permit sales, dog licensing, and hurricane re-entry passes.
The Recreation Center will resume normal operations on Monday, August 10, with all regularly scheduled programs and amenities returning.
