The Sanibel Recreation Center will be closed from Saturday, July 29 to Sunday, Aug. 6 in order to complete numerous repair and maintenance projects (repaving of the parking lot, installation of new weight equipment, acid washing of pools, and more).
The facility will reopen Monday, Aug. 7. All of the major projects have been scheduled during this time in an effort to minimize the inconvenience to our patrons as many of the projects are odiferous and disruptive.
The Youth Summer Camp program will not be offered the week of Monday, July 31 during the facility maintenance closure. Youth programming will resume with Fun Days on Aug. 7, 8, and 9 for children in kindergarten through eighth grade. This program operates from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Beach Parking Permits will be available for purchase from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, July 31 through Friday, Aug, 4 at the Sanibel Building and Planning Departments, 2475 Library Way Sanibel. When applying for a Beach Parking Permit, remember to bring a valid vehicle registration for each vehicle and a valid state issued identification or driver’s license. Payment may be made via check, MasterCard or Visa.
