provided to The Santiva Chronicle

The SanCap Chamber has announced Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5 (Sanibel) and 6 (Captiva), as the dates for the 39th annual Luminary Stroll and opens sponsorship opportunities for businesses, organizations, and residents.

Sponsors to date include Sanibel Captiva Community Bank as presenting sponsor, along with Michael Saunders & Company and Sarah Ashton–Ashton Kirchner Group as gold sponsors. Available sponsorships remain at the Gold Level ($3,000), Silver Level ($2,000), and Bronze Level ($1,000), each with its own publicity exposure opportunities.

As a final highlight for the City of Sanibel 50th anniversary celebration, this year’s luminary promises one of the brightest, most festive in its 39 years of existence. Activities will include a live Nativity scene, a WINK meteorologist guest of honor, Santa visits, live music, and special treats and activities at island businesses and organizations. The chamber will hand out a map of participating merchants that evening.

“Our goal is to offer recognition to island businesses and encourage local shopping while providing a fun-filled evening for family and friends. It is one of the community’s biggest and best annual events,” said John Lai, SanCap Chamber president and chief executive officer. “Thanks to our generous sponsors, the long-celebrated tradition of community goodwill and holiday celebration will once again bring together islanders and visitors in a joyous burst of spirit along the candle-lit pathways of Sanibel and Captiva.”
