SCBWA Hosting Luncheon With Former Chico’s CEO

Former Chico’s CEO Diane Ellis is the guest speaker at the February luncheon for the Sanibel Captiva Business Women’s Association.

The Sanibel Captiva Business Women’s Association will host a luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20 at Doc Ford’s with former Chico’s CEO Diane Ellis as the featured speaker.

Ellis will speak to the group on the topic of leading authentically. She will share her own journey in leading more authentically as a woman, why and how women in leadership can apply and nurture what are considered traditionally ‘feminine traits’ to lead more effectively and why female leaders have the competencies required to be successful in today’s business environment.

Ellis is a Fortune 500 Global Executive and Board Member with over 35 years of Retail Industry experience.

Ellis joined the executive team of Chico’s FAS, Inc. (NYSE: CHS) as President of Chico’s in 2016. Prior to Chico’s, Ellis served as Chief Executive Officer of The Limited and was instrumental in driving the strategy behind the company’s growth and business transformation. Prior to The Limited, she was President and Chief Operating Officer of Brooks Brothers where she led the company’s global expansion to over 27 countries.

In addition, Ellis was the Founding Partner of Lighthouse Retail Group, Managing Director for the Retail Strategy Practice at PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Ellis has served on the Board of Directors for Stage Stores, Inc. since September 2013 and also serves on the Board of iAnthus Capital, a leader in the Cannabis industry since December 2019. She is an advisor to Viper Technology and is CEO and founder of DME Advisory Group LLC. She was named as 2018 Power Player of the Year by the National Retail Federation.

Sanibel Captiva Business Women’s Association is dedicated to empowering and supporting the women who work and live on the islands through networking, mentorship, continuing education and career advancement.

SCBWA aims to serve the community by offering an inclusive, supportive and diverse group of women supporting women. Our focus is the advancement of women’s career development targeted to workers, aspiring workers and the residents of Sanibel and Captiva. The group meets every third Tuesday of the month at various businesses and restaurants at noon.
