provided to Santiva Chronicle

Fly tying expert Drew Chicone will host a workshop from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 10 for children ages 8 to 13 at Sanibel Sea School. Students will learn the art of designing and crafting flies from natural materials to resemble prey species. “Some of the supplies we’re planning to use are feathers and deer hair,” said program coordinator Shannon Stainken. “It should be a fun opportunity to learn from one of the best teachers around!”

This session is part of a series of after school programs. $20 per student, scholarships are available upon request. To learn more, visit Sanibel Sea School is a 501c3 nonprofit whose mission is to improve the ocean’s future, one person at a time.
