Sea School Offering After School Fishing Lessons

provided to Santiva Chronicle

On Tuesday afternoons in September, Sanibel Sea School will offer a series of fishing themed lessons for elementary and middle school students. This after school program is designed to help participants develop the basic skills necessary to enjoy fishing on their own, or to develop their existing skills. Session topics will include cast netting and seining, fly tying, knot tying, and spin casting. Fly tying expert and author Drew Chicone will guest teach the September 10th session. Students ages 8-13 may sign up for individual classes, or for the entire four-week series. Sessions are $20 each and will be offered 9/3, 9/10, 9/17, and 9/24.

Sanibel Sea School is a 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the ocean’s future, one person at a time. Scholarships are available upon request. To learn more or register, visit or call (239) 472-8585.
