The Menendez Family of Sanibel has been searching for a Junonia shell for the past 40 years, and on Saturday, Nov. 1, the son found the long-sought shell at Bowman’s Beach. Dr. Daniel Menendez and his fiancée, Candace Gratton, who was visiting from England, found it at sunset. “We are so proud that we had to share the great news,” said Daniel’s mother, Alessandra Menendez.
