Soak Up the Sun This Labor Day Weekend at South Seas

South Seas Resort on Captiva Island is set to host a high-energy weekend of family-friendly fun for Labor Day. From beach games and live entertainment to special dining experiences and sunset celebrations, Labor Day Weekend at South Seas is the perfect island sendoff to the summer season.

Guests, members and owners with South Seas resort amenity access are invited to participate in activities all weekend long, from a movie night on the Bayview Lawn to a beach party on Sunset Beach. The fun begins at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, with a movie night on Bayview Lawn and continues throughout the weekend.

The event schedule for Saturday, Aug. 30, includes the following activities:
• 7:30 a.m.: Sanibel-Captiva Sunrise Sale — The Shops at South Seas
• 10 a.m.: Family Aqua Yoga — Bayview Pool Complex
• 11 a.m.: T-shirt Tie Dye ($) — Bayview Lawn
• Noon: Live Music — Bayview Pool Complex
• 1 p.m.: Face Painting — Bayview Pool Complex
• 3 p.m.: BINGO! — Bayview Pool Complex
• 4 p.m.: Hydro Battle and Water Balloon Toss — Bayview Lawn
• 6 p.m.: Beach BBQ and Sunset Shell-A-Bration — Sunset Beach
• 8:30 p.m.: Silent Disco and Glow Golf — The Clutch

Scoops & Slices at The Shops

The party continues on Sunday, Aug. 31, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.:
• 10 a.m.: Family Aqua Yoga — Bayview Pool Complex
• 11 a.m.: Build a Beach Buddy ($) — Bayview Lawn
• Noon: Live Music — Bayview Pool Complex
• 1 p.m.: Sip & Shop (open to the public) — The Shops at South Seas
• 1 p.m.: Name That Tune — Bayview Pool Complex
• 2 p.m.: Duck Races — Bayview Pool Complex
• 3 p.m.: BINGO! — Bayview Pool Complex
• 6 p.m.: Beach Party Food Trucks ($) and Sunset Shell-A-Bration — Sunset Beach
• 8:30 p.m.: Family-Friendly Karaoke Night — Bayview Lawn Patio

With the exception of the Sunrise Sale on Aug. 30 and Sip & Shop on Aug. 31, all events are exclusive to South Seas registered guests, Club Captiva members and owners with South Seas resort amenity access. T-shirt Tie Dye, Build a Beach Buddy, Luau BBQ and the Beach Party Food Trucks are all paid events; all other events are included with South Seas resort amenity access. A wristband is required for participation, and all activities are weather permitting and subject to change.

The Clutch

Throughout the weekend, several dining locations at the resort will be available — Provisions; Starbucks; Spirits; Harborside; Shell City Burgers; Scoops & Slices; Redfish Grill; and Tarpon Bar. Hours of operation for each location are available at SouthSeas.com/Events/Labor-Day-Weekend-2025.

From Aug. 30 through Aug. 31, golfers at The Clutch can enjoy 50% specialty drinks and a “Buy One Round, Play a Second Round Free” deal. Tee times are available for booking in the South Seas app.

  1. I find it reprehensible that you would print anything glorifying South Seas Resort when all the organizations and Sanibel government and most residents of Captiva and Sanibel are aghast at the damage South Seas plans for our beloved island. Shame on you Santiva chronicle!
