Tarpon Bay Road Lane Closures Announced

provided to Santiva Chronicle

The Lee County Electric Cooperative has announced it will have the northbound lane of Tarpon Bay Road closed, immediately south of Library Way to the driveway of Timbers Restaurant & Fish Market, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18 and Thursday, Sept. 19 to rebuild an upper portion of a pole south of Library Way and change out a reclosure device on the pole.

The City of Sanibel stated in a release that access to Library Way will not be affected and Shared Use Path users will be accommodated through a dedicated area on the northbound lane shoulder of Tarpon Bay Road. Two-way traffic on Tarpon Bay Road will be maintained via one lane, controlled by flagging personnel.

The city has cautioned motorists to be prepared for delays and request drivers and pedestrians proceed slowly and cautiously through the area where workers are present. For more information, contact LCEC at 239-656-2300 or 800-599-2356.
