Thank You For a Successful Season, From SHMV

The Sanibel Historical Village announces its annual closure from August 1 to October 2025.

Nearly 4,500 guests joined us for tours, programs, and events during the 2024-25 season. We received support from over 200 donors and members, and tallied 2000 volunteer hours.

Thank you to our staff, board, volunteers, donors, members, city staff, visitors, guests, partners, and the community for assisting the Village in successfully engaging in our mission to preserve, share, and celebrate Sanibel’s history.

We look forward to reopening our doors again on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Our OPEN days are changing to Wednesday through Sunday for the 2025-2026 Season. This provides the opportunity to visit the Village while you are in the neighborhood for the Farmer’s Market at City Hall. During October, November, and December, as well as May, June, and July, the Village will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. From January to April 2026, we will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We are planning many offerings and opportunities highlighting the Village’s mission during the 2025-2026 Season. Please visit our website to sign up for our E-NEWSLETTER, and “Like” us on Facebook and Instagram to stay engaged and make plans to spend time with us next season.

The Village is located on Sanibel Island at 950 Dunlop Road (next to Big Arts), and parking is free.

The Sanibel Historical Museum & Village operates as a non-profit organization.
