Pablo Rivera was traveling east on Periwinkle Way at 4:22 p.m. Sunday, July 3, when the back of his vehicle was struck by a vehicle operated by Kyle Sweet. No injuries were reported
Joseph Bucantis was traveling east on West Gulf Drive at 8:04 p.m. Monday, July 4, when his vehicle was struck by a westbound vehicle operated by Kerstin Sesti, who was making a left turn. No injuries were reported.
Barbara Levine was traveling east on Periwinkle Way at 9:17 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, when she slowed for traffic and the back of her vehicle was struck by a vehicle operated by Madison Isley. No injuries were reported.
Animal Reports
Two officers responded to a home in the 1800 block of Middle Gulf Drive on June 27, where a three-feet alligator was in the swimming pool. Officers removed the alligator and relocated it to the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge.
Officer Steve Royka responded to the Sanibel Pier on Friday, July 1 for a report of an injured manatee. While he saw several of them, none appeared injured.
A group of manatees were reportedly “flopping around in shallow water” on Monday, July 4 at Blind Pass. The Florida Wildlife Commission dispatched their biologist.
