Island traffic is picking up after last year’s severe Red Tide.
September saw 207,956 vehicles pass through the toll booth to Sanibel and Captiva Islands. That’s a 13% increase over a year earlier when the Red Tide was deterring many visitors.
Overall, for the first nine months of this year we have seen 2,533,922 vehicles or 3% more than the same period in 2018.
