Turner Beach Park Temporarily Closing For Beach Nourishment Project

Turner Beach Park will be closed to the public starting Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, for staging of equipment and materials for the Captiva Beach Renourishment Project, the City of Sanibel announced.

The Captiva Erosion Prevention District said in a statement that the beach renourishment project will strengthen the shoreline, protect property, and preserve the natural beauty of the beaches.

Construction is expected to run 24 hours a day over an estimated 56-day period to minimize overall disruption and complete the work as quickly as possible.
