Two Men Charged With Battery Against Employer

Two employees were arrested last week for attacking their employer after one of them was fired. Brett and Jeffrey Baldassarre of Sanibel were charged with battery on Friday, July 15 and released the next day from the Lee County Jail on $1,500 bond each.

MacKenzie Antoch of Cape Coral was arrested Friday, July 15 and charged with driving under the influence.

A hit-and-run accident was reported at 8:54 a.m. Saturday, July 16 in the 1500 block of Periwinkle Way. Officers were unable to locate the responsible driver.

An unknown driver left the scene of a single-vehicle crash at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 19 in the area of Tahiti Drive and Sanibel Captiva Drive. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle or its driver.

Animal Reports

An iguana was reported Saturday, July 16 in the 600 block of Periwinkle Way.

A deceased sea turtle was reported Sunday, July 17 on the beach at Casa Ybel Resort. The Florida Wildlife Commission and Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation were contacted.

A coyote was sighted Monday, July 18 in the 2300 block of Palm Ridge Road.

A deceased sea turtle was found Tuesday, July 19 on the beach in the 4300 block of West Gulf Drive. SCCF responded to the scene.

A coyote was sighted Wednesday, July 20 crossing Periwinkle Way.

A coyote was sighted Wednesday, July 20 in the area of Glory Circle and East Gulf Drive.

A coyote was sighted Wednesday, July 20 in the area of Island Inn Road.

An injured turtle was found Thursday, July 21 near the Sanibel Boat Ramp. It was transported to the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife for treatment.
