Wednesday Update: November Had Largest Number of Cases

There was one new virus case in the past three days for Sanibel according to the Florida Department of Health on Wednesday, Dec. 2. The total number of cases in November was 28, which is the largest number of positive cases in a single month since March, when the first case was reported on the island. The total number of cases is at 89 since March.

Sanibel Mayor Mick Denham has extended the declared state of local emergency, which includes the city’s mandate on face coverings inside public places. The city is also encouraging social distancing and avoiding group gatherings to prevent the further spread of the virus.
