The Zonta Foundation of Southwest Florida and the Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva recently awarded grants totaling $45,000 to seven local non-profit organizations dedicated to empowering women and girls. The funded projects focus on training, education, and affordable housing that supports women as they strive toward their rights as individuals.

Zonta Grants Committee co-chair Diane Chesley says, “We know that many wonderful organizations are doing amazing work to promote the welfare of women and girls, and Zonta is pleased to recognize and support this work.”

The organizations receiving Zonta awards for 2025 include Sanibel’s F.I.S.H. and Community Housing and Resources, and from Fort Myers, Goodwill Enterprises’ Micro Enterprises Institute, Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build campaign, SalusCare, Healing Stitches, and Premier Mobile Health Services Corp.

Co-chair Pam Eccles observes, “Through these grants, Zonta hopes to empower impactful programs and initiatives that create lasting change and a brighter future for those who need it most.”

Zonta’s grant money is raised each year primarily through its signature fundraising event, the “Peek at the Unique” home and garden tour. This year’s “Peek” is scheduled for Saturday, March 15, with tickets now available on EventBrite here.
