SUMMARY:Resilient Landscapes in Practice: Walking Tour
DESCRIPTION:Take a guided walk led by local experts from SCCF. This walking tour will go through a couple of Captiva’s habitats to gain a better understanding of how they protect the island when faced with extreme weather events\, including king tides\, tropical storms\, and hurricanes. Learn how the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation has adapted their landscape to be better prepared for climate change and extreme weather\, and hear about practical considerations for utilizing these techniques on your own property. \nSpace is limited for the walking tour. This program is being presented collaboratively between the CCA\, SCCF\, and the Rauschenberg Residency program. Purchase tickets here.

DESCRIPTION:The Captiva Island Farmers Market is a seasonal open air market located in the parking lot at the entrance of South Seas Island Resort. The market offers products to not only guests of South Seas\, but ALL Captiva Island visitors and residents. Each week you will be able to buy: Just picked produce\, seafood\, cheese\, pickles\, orchids\, cut flowers\, native plants\, prepared foods\, soaps\, candles\, guacamole\, smoothies\, organics\, meats and so much more. There will also be local artists selling handmade crafts on certain Tuesdays of the season as a special event.
