A DUI and Rear-end Collision Occupied Police on Sanibel This Week

Mary Carol Mitchell of Sanibel was stopped by Sanibel Police on November 1st at 8:40pm after running a stop sign at Tarpon Bay and Periwinkle Way. After failing a roadside sobriety tests, she was taken to the Lee County Jail where she was booked for DUI.

Thomas James Lee of Sanibel was cited for careless driving, after his vehicle rear-ended a vehicle on Sanibel Captiva Road driven by Donald F. Mikita of Sandy Hook, Connecticut on November 5th at 12:20pm. Lee County EMS was called and treated injuries at the scene.
