The FISH of Sanibel-Captiva Foundation will host its upcoming AngelFISH Society luncheon on Monday, November 10, at Sundial Beach Resort & Spa, featuring Carrie Bloemers, System Director of Wellness for Lee Health, who will focus on the importance of nutrition and wellness.
Founded in 2021 by former FISH board member Nicole McHale, the AngelFISH Society is a dynamic philanthropic group of women who combine friendship, education, and collective giving to drive lasting local impact.
The AngelFISH Committee now guides the society. They are Linda Uhler, Chair; Maggi Feiner, FISH President & CEO; Maria Espinoza, Executive Director; Salli Kirkland and Kathy Samson, FISH Board Members; Lisa Ann Miller, FISH Secretary; and Maggie Goldsmith, FISH Marketing & Grants Director.
Each year, AngelFISH contributes financial gifts that are divided between strengthening the Foundation and funding a project addressing urgent community needs. Recent AngelFISH projects have included:
• 2023–2024: Food Box Program (Post-Hurricane Ian Relief)
• 2022: Fresh Meals for Kids
• 2021: Technology Access for Seniors
“The work of FISH has been more important than ever as our islands continue their recovery,” said Uhler. “The support of our generous AngelFISH has made a difference, and we appreciate you.”
The society’s 2025–2026 project, AngelFISH Kitchen, will launch later this fall, building on FISH’s long-standing commitment to food access by expanding into nutrition and wellness education.
“AngelFISH brings energy and vision to everything they do,” said Feiner, President & CEO of FISH. “Their support ensures FISH can continue meeting the evolving needs of our islands, while also creating programs that have lasting value for our neighbors and workforce.”
The AngelFISH luncheon event is open to all women who want to make an impact—whether you’re a year-round resident, a seasonal neighbor, or someone newly learning about FISH.
