Arrest Made After Fight at Sunset Beach

Sanibel Police were called to Sunset Beach Resort, 3287 West Gulf Dr., on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 10:45 p.m. to a physical disturbance involving two women. After investigation, police determined that 55-year-old Marie Klubniken of Long Beach, Calif., was at fault. She was arrested by Sanibel Police on a charge of ”battery on a person 65 years of age or older.” The two family friends had reportedly been on vacation on Sanibel for three days when the incident occurred. Klubniken was transported to the Lee County Jail.

Sanibel Police investigated a traffic accident on Periwinkle Way on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 3:15 p.m. Brenda Marie Trevino Santiago of Orlando was stopped for bicyclist crossing on the pedestrian path when her vehicle was rear-ended by Rose Shelly Jeudi of Lehigh Acres. Lee County Emergency Medical responded and provided care to all injured passengers who refused medical transportation. Investigating officers cited Jeudi for Careless Driving.
