Florida-based artist, Myra Roberts will present her ‘Shellebrity’ exhibit from Jan. 6 to Jan. 22 at the Tribby Arts Center, 17281 On Par Blvd., Fort Myers. Living on Sanibel for 25 years inspired Roberts to create the ‘Shellebrity’ collection including new original watercolor and acrylic paintings of Sanibel beaches.
The beach themed paintings encapsulate the essence of Sanibel. Roberts brings historical prints and her own stories to life through depictions of nature, shelling, beachgoers, and wildlife. Roberts will be available for a meet and greet to discuss her works from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11 at the Center.
Roberts donates funds and works for auction to organizations such as: the Holocaust Museum & Education Center of Southwest Florida; the Ecostudies Institute of Mount Vernon, Washington; the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW); Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation, and Sanibel-Captiva Cares/Golisano Children’s Hospital of Fort Myers. She was recognized with a WGCU 2016 MAKERS award which is given to women who make a lasting impact in Southwest Florida. Her paintings are in public and private collections across the United States and Europe. Roberts has received letters of endorsement from the likes of Hillary Rodham Clinton and the Jane Goodall Institute for her ‘Faces of Anne Frank’ project.
