Bank of the Islands Announces First Winner of a Duck Stamp

Bank of the Islands Is pleased to announce Sarah Jacobson as the winner of week one in its new month-long “Celebrate Our Islands!” promotion for the bank’s island neighbors and customers. Jacobson correctly answered one of the daily trivia questions in week one, placing her name in the drawing.

The daily trivia contests – celebrating all the things that make our barrier island community so special – will continue through the month with weekly drawings and a grand prize drawing on July 31.

Jacobson will receive the newly released 2023-2024 Federal Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp. Commonly known as the Duck Stamp, these beautiful collectibles help protected areas such as Sanibel’s J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge as they conserve wetland habitats for waterfowl and other wildlife species.

Anyone wishing to support this work can buy the new Duck Stamp at the refuge’s gift shop.

“Celebrate Our Islands!” week two starts Monday, July 10 with the trivia question: “At what 5-star island resort will the ‘Celebrate Our Islands!’ Grand Prize winner enjoy a two-night stay in a gulf front cottage and a dinner for two at its famed restaurant?” All are welcome to visit the bank’s Sanibel and Captiva offices daily to submit your answers.

The Bank of the Islands’ offices, including ATM operations, have both reopened after Hurricane Ian.

The Captiva office, located next to the Captiva Post Office at 14812 Captiva Drive, is open from 9am-2pm Monday-Friday, with a half-hour lunch closure at noon.

The Bank’s Sanibel office is offering banking services from 9am-4pm Monday-Friday out of its temporary on-site operation on premise at 1699 Periwinkle Way at Casa Ybel Road.

In addition, the Edison National Bank offices in Fort Myers at 13000 S. Cleveland Avenue and the River District office at 2105 First Street will continue to welcome all of the Bank’s island customers. The bank’s meeting spaces are also being offered to the islands’ non-profit organizations and houses of worship.
