Bank of the Islands Announces Third Weekly Winner

Bank of the Islands is pleased to announce Andreas Bieri is the Week 3 winner in its month-long “Celebrate Our Islands!” promotion for all the bank’s island neighbors and customers. Bieri correctly answered one of the daily Week 3 trivia questions, placing his name in the drawing. The daily trivia contests – celebrating all the things that make our barrier island community so special – will continue through the month with weekly drawings and a grand prize drawing on July 31.

Following Week 2 winner Mark Marinello (pictured), Bieri will receive the newly released 2023-2024 Federal Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp. Commonly known as the Duck Stamp, these beautiful collectibles help protected areas such as Sanibel’s J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge as they conserve wetland habitats for waterfowl and other wildlife species. Anyone wishing to support this work can buy the new Duck Stamp at the Refuge’s gift shop.

Celebrate Our Islands! Week 4 starts on Monday, July 24 with the trivia question: “Most experts think Sanibel was named for what person?”

All are welcome to visit the bank’s Sanibel and Captiva offices daily to submit your answers.

On July 31, in addition to the Week 4 Duck Stamp winner, a grand prize winner will be drawn from all the correctly answered submissions. The grand prize winner will receive a two-night stay for two in one of the famed gulf front cottages at Captiva’s ‘Tween Waters Inn including dinner for two at its 5-star Old Captiva House.

The Bank of the Islands’ offices, including ATM operations, have both reopened after the hurricane. The Captiva office, 14812 Captiva Drive, next to the Captiva Post Office, is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday to Friday, with a half-hour lunch closure at noon. The Bank’s Sanibel office is offering banking services from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday out of its temporary on-site operation on premise at 1699 Periwinkle Way at Casa Ybel Road.

In addition, the Edison National Bank offices in Fort Myers, 13000 S. Cleveland Ave., and the River District office, 2105 First St., will continue to welcome all of the Bank’s island customers. The bank’s meeting spaces are also being offered to the islands’ non-profit organizations and houses of worship.
