Bank of the Islands recently made its latest non-profit donation through its “We Love Our Islands” program. Rotarian Clark Rambo, a longtime island resident, was the lucky winner and selected the Jr. Wheels for Wheels Cycling Challenge, founded by Rotary’s Howard S. Danner, to receive the bank’s $2,000 donation.

This donation marks $148,600 given away to date through the Bank of the Islands’ “We Love Our Islands” program. It also represents the seventh donation since the bank doubled the weekly outlay for the program.

“We’re so pleased to support Wheels for Wheels with our latest donation,” said Bank of the Islands President Robbie Roepstorff. “Following Reverend Danner’s founding leadership, the San-Cap Rotarians have continued his cycling fundraiser.”

“As a result, in partnership with The Wheelchair Foundation, hundreds of wheelchairs have been donated to those in need of life-affirming mobility as far away as Barbados and Trinidad,” said Roepstorff. “This donation is a great way to salute the charitable works of our fellow islanders and show how much we appreciate being your island bank.”

Islanders can pick up a We Love Our Islands vehicle decal and learn more about the program at the bank’s Sanibel or Captiva office.

Bank of the Islands, the oldest locally owned and managed community bank in Lee County, is proud to win more than 50 “Best of the Islands” awards, including numerous recognitions as “Best Island Bank.”

Bank of the Islands has retained a 5-star Superior Rating from BauerFinancial for more than a decade. Bank Performance Report ranks it in the Top 10 among all banks chartered in Florida.

Bank of the Islands is located at 1699 Periwinkle Way, at the corner of Casa Ybel Road, on Sanibel. The Captiva office is at 14812 Captiva Drive, next to the Captiva Post Office.
