Bankers Kelsey Hamilton and Lisa Markau lead the Bank’s parade revelers.

Joining the Sanibel-Captiva Chamber of Commerce as the Presenting Sponsors, Bank of the Islands was proud to support the 33rd Annual Sam Bailey Islands Night Baseball Game. Held at Lee Health Sports Complex in Fort Myers on May 8, this beloved island tradition was a fan favorite despite the Mighty Mussels going down 6-2 against the visiting Tampa Tarpons.

For many islanders in the stands, the pre-game parade of local businesses and organizations was as enjoyable as the baseball game and drone show that followed.

“It is our honor to keep Sam Bailey’s legendary and fun-filled event returning year after year,” said Bank of the Islands President Robbie Roepstorff. “Time-honored gatherings like Sam’s Islands Night help reinforce the special community we have on Sanibel and Captiva.”

A former athlete, local businessman, and part of one of Sanibel’s founding families, Bailey created the event as a way to invite all islanders to join in a community-wide evening celebration.
