Bank of the Islands President Robbie Roepstorff is pleased announce the bank has made a $5,000 donation to the Sanibel & Captiva Kiwanis Club.

“Reaching 50 years of service to our island community is a real milestone for our local Kiwanis members,” said Bank of the Islands President Robbie Roepstorff. “They set an admirable goal – to raise $50,000 in new scholarship funding during their 50th year – so we wanted to take them over the top with this donation!”

Bank of the Islands went a step further by hosting a celebration event for Kiwanis members at the Sanibel location of Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille. Among the revelers were Kiwanis President Jeff Blackman, Kiwanis Board Member Tom Uhler, and other members including Chip Roach, Doc Ford’s Katy Forret and Bank of the Islands Vice President David Lowden.”

“The Club’s tagline is ‘serving the community and having fun since 1973’,” said Lowden. “The celebration of this final campaign gift demonstrated our members are very experienced at doing both.”

As the oldest locally owned and managed community bank on Sanibel and Captiva, Bank of the Islands is proud to be the winner of more than 50 “Best of the Islands” awards over two decades. To learn more, visit http://www.bankoftheislands.com.
