Retail shopping returns bit by bit on Sanibel and Captiva islands, and the SanCap Chamber celebrated that trend with a ribbon-cutting Thursday, Feb. 1, at Beach Daisy Boutique in Periwinkle Place at 2075 Periwinkle Way on Sanibel Island.
“Sanibel’s reputation as a shopping mecca will be restored as we welcome stores like Beach Daisy back to the retail landscape,” said John Lai, president and CEO of SanCap Chamber. “To make the business community whole again, we need all the pieces of the business puzzle to fit back together again, and we are happy to welcome the boutique back into the fold.”
Keelie and Brian Bloom have operated Beach Daisy Boutique for nearly 10 years at Periwinkle Place, along with a store named My Friend’s Place. They specialized in women’s and men’s clothing plus home goods. They have reopened part of their space with a similar inventory model and hope to fully open the entire location by fall. The My Friend’s Place will change to Coast Clothing, primarily men’s wear.
The Blooms have supported local charities on the island and created an event called the Models and Mutts fashion show, where they raised several thousand dollars for the Gulf Coast Humane Society.
“We would like to continue to support nonprofits on the island as well as other local communities,” said Keelie Bloom. “The chamber has been a wonderful organization to work with and has helped us gain knowledge within the community and been an integral part in introducing us to other entrepreneurs on the island.”

So very happy to hear this great news. BEACH DAISY is one of my very favorite go to stores on the island . It is a fabulous go to store when I want a special outfit or if I’m looking for a gift for a Fri. Very excited about the men’s clothing store that will open in the fall.
