Bank of the Islands and the Sanibel-Captiva Chamber of Commerce gathered Nov. 30 at the bank’s Sanibel office to celebrate the return of full banking services at the Sanibel and Captiva offices.
The Bank’s CEO Geoff Roepstorff, President Robbie Roepstorff, Asst. Vice President/Office Manager Susan Schulte, and Lead Teller Heather Harrison were joined by Chamber Board Chair Calli Johnson and President & CEO John Lai, among others.
“Bank of the Islands has been a rock for this community since its opening more than two decades ago,” said John Lai, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Sanibel & Captiva Islands Chamber of Commerce. “Now, when the islands need them the most, it is gratifying to feel their support and to celebrate their reopenings on both Sanibel and Captiva. It marks a crucial milestone of SanCapStrong recovery.”
The Bank of the Islands’ offices, including ATM operations, have both reopened after Hurricane Ian devastated the islands on Sept. 28. The Captiva office, located next to the Captiva Post Office at 14812 Captiva Dr., is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday. The bank’s Sanibel office is offering full banking services from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday out of its temporary on-site operation on premise at 1699 Periwinkle Way at Casa Ybel Road. In addition, our Edison National Bank offices, 13000 S. Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers, and our River District office, 2105 First St., will continue to welcome all our island customers.
“This is indeed a milestone day for our bank and our island community, and we’re grateful our Chamber colleagues are here to help us recognize how far we have come since Hurricane Ian’s landfall,” said Bank CEO Geoff Roepstorff. “The destruction caused by Ian is without precedent for Sanibel and Captiva.
