CHR Reflects On Its Remarkable Comeback A Year After Ian

Community Housing and Resources, a beacon of hope and support for the residents of Sanibel and Captiva Islands, reflects on its remarkable comeback following the devastating impact of Hurricane Ian one year ago.

Through the unwavering dedication of its staff, the selfless efforts of volunteers, and the resilience of the community, CHR has made significant progress in rebuilding and providing vital assistance to those affected by the storm, which made landfall Sept. 28, 2022 as a massive Category 4 hurricane.

The destructive force of Ian left a lasting imprint on the islands, but it also kindled a spirit of unity and determination among the residents. Our community banded together, demonstrating immense strength and compassion throughout the recovery process.
