City Council Presents Awards

The Judith Ann Zimomra Scholarship winners are recognized by the Sanibel City Council. The scholarship is named in honor of retired City Manager Judy Zimomra.

City Council presented several awards at its July 16 meeting, including the winners of the Judith Ann Zimomra Scholarship Awards. The awards are worth $3,000 each and are given to dependents of city employees. Mayor Richard Johnson told the winners to “go away, work hard, and come back to Sanibel.” The winners are:

• Caroline Dillon, daughter of Denise Dillon, Support Services Assistant, Sanibel Recreation Department

• Analise Gingerich, daughter of Chad Gingerich, Computer Support Specialist, Information Technology, Police Department

• Colin Menzel, son of Chris Menzel, Tradesworker, Sanibel Recreation Department

• Kaia Miller, daughter of Andrea Miller, Director, Sanibel Recreation Department

Sanibel Police Chief Bill Dalton is recognized for his 30 years of service to the community.

In addition, Kevin Kloesz, Police Aide Supervisor, Sanibel Police Department, was honored as Employee of the 3rd Quarter, which carries an award of $250.

Sanibel Police Chief William “Bill” Dalton, was recognized for 30 years of dedicated service to the City of Sanibel, and received a watch in appreciation.
