provided to The Santiva Chronicle

Congressman Charlie Crist will be the guest speaker at the virtual meeting of the Progressive Club of the Islands on Thursday, March 18. The meeting will start at 4:45 p.m. with announcements and club business. Crist’s presentation will begin at 5 p.m.

Representative Crist will speak on the State of Florida politics focusing both on the Pandemic and on his efforts in ensuring voting rights for all Floridians, especially given the current trend to make access to voting more difficult in Florida and across the nation. Crist has a long record of service to Florida in leadership positions as a State Senator, Commissioner of Education, Attorney General, Florida’s 44th Governor, and now as Congressman representing Florida’s 13th Congressional District. He has most recently been tapped to serve on the powerful Appropriations Committee, including the subcommittee of Defense. He is also serving on the Science Committee which oversees NASA and space and climate change policy.

Charlie Crist has stated that he is committed to returning civility to our political discourse, and honors the “Golden Rule” every day as he works across the aisle to create jobs, raise wages, protect our beaches, honor our military and veterans, strengthen education, and ensure fair treatment for all.

The March 18th meeting will be interactive with time provided for questions from attendees. To attend the meeting, please email pcisancap@gmail.com to receive the zoom link or watch live at http://www.facebook.com/pcisancap.
