Sanibel City Council has selected three search firms as potentials for the upcoming City Manager job replacement.
Judi Zimomra informed Council last month that she will retire in September after over 20 years in the position.
The three search firms will be given time at the upcoming special meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 15 at Sanibel City Hall, 800 Dunlop Rd.
The firms selected are Colin Baenziger and Associates, Mercer Group Florida, and Slavin Mangement Consultants.
At the public meeting they will each be given 15 minutes to make a formal presentation and then have up to 30 minutes for questions from the Council members.
They will be allowed to attend in person or via Zoom.
They have each provided council with references that members will be checking between now and the meeting.
Mayor Holly Smith said that council will discuss the prospective companies and award the assignment to one of them at the conclusion of the June 15 meeting.
City Attorney John Agnew said that he will then review and negotiate a contract with the selected company so they can begin quickly.
Also discussed was how City Council will engage the public in the process of City Manager selection, but remains unresolved.
