COVID Vaccine Available for Homebound, Vulnerable Island Residents

In the COVID-19 update Tuesday, March 16 by the Sanibel City Council, Mayor Holly Smith said it has been reported 72 percent of island residents 65+ years of age have been vaccinated. It was also announced F.I.S.H. of SanCap acquired 150 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. The Florida Department of Health will be distributing the doses Tuesday, March 23 at the Sanibel Community House.

The vaccine will be administered to the homebound and vulnerable residents on the island. It is by appointment only and those who are qualified can make an appointment through F.I.S.H. by calling 239-472-4775.
